AGM Statement
Prime People plc (AIM: PRP.L), the commercial property recruitment specialist, is holding its Annual General Meeting today at 11a.m. Chairman, Robert Macdonald, will make the following statement about current trading.
'2006 has got off to a strong start with net fee income in the first quarter 14% ahead of the same period last year and we continue to trade in line with expectations. We are continuing to see strong demand for property professionals across all areas of the industry, particularly in the UK as the property industry prepares for the introduction of UK Reits. We have added 9 new consultants across the group since the start of the financial year.
'International expansion is a key part of our growth strategy and last month we opened our second overseas office, which is in Hong Kong. Our Dubai operation, which opened for business in January this year, is performing ahead of expectations and plans are in place to locate four further consultants in this area by the end of the first half. We are also actively seeking to expand the business through the acquisition of complementary recruitment teams or businesses.
'The opportunities of the international property sector and the steps we are taking to expand and strengthen our business, both in the UK and overseas, gives the Board confidence in the future progress of the Company.'
